When Ego has Retreated Obedience to Truth Emerges
 Sharon Parris-Chambers

Gandhi once said: “The Voice for truth speaks to every person on the planet, every single day. That voice is as loud as our willingness to listen.”

If the voice for truth speaks to every single person on the planet daily, are you turned in to it? Know the voice for truth. Move toward it in your life. Turn your attention and your senses Up so that you can become obedient to truth speaking to you right now.

The Voice is sometimes characterized as “still and small”. Whatever it is, whether fortissimo (loud) or pianissimo (soft) you need to learn synchronicity. Learn to dance with the music of the universe.

It is obedience that leads us to our ultimate good. It leads you by the hand on your path to your Divine appointment. Before you can really trust others, trust the god or goddess within. Then, you learn to submit to the will of your Divinity.

Sacred Practice: Mindfulness Meditation.

Mindfulness meditation also known as Vipassana and insight meditation, requires focus on mindfulness practice. Awareness of the object of meditation, the breath, sounds, or all of the above.

1. Assume a comfortable but alert upright position.
2. Gently bring your attention to the breath and note each inhalation and exhalation – without trying to change anything or breathe in any specific way.
3. When you notice your mind wandering (as it often does) gently bring your attention back to the breath and start again. At this point, you can choose to focus on a Mantra.

The meaning of Mantra: A mantra is a word, sound, or phrase repeated to aid in your concentration while meditating.

Modern day mantras:
“This too shall pass.” (Endurance/Strength)
“I change my thoughts, I change my world.” (Norman Vincent Peale)
“I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me and Thank you.” (Hawaiian Prayer of Forgiveness, Ho’oponopono)
“Every day in every way I’m getting better and better.” (Laura Silva)

Some favorite ancient mantras:

“Aum”|”Om” (Sanskrit/Hindu – means “It is”)
“I AM that I AM” (Hebrew, “Ayer Asher Ayah” - God’s name)
“Om Namah Shivaya”(Hindu, I honor the divinity within myself)
“Om Mani Padme Hum” (Buddhist, Hail the Buddha (Jewel) in the Lotus)
(Cartlett, 2015)

NOTE: It should be stated that mindfulness meditation while popular today is not a new practice. Meditation and meditative philosophy can lead to enlightenment and liberation from suffering. This has long been taught in Buddhism founded in the late 6th century B.C.E. by its founder Siddhartha Gautama.

Affirmation: “Spirit have your way in my life.”

True joy is achieved living one day at a time
I speak, think, act with humility and self-control
